"The whole world laughed at us. They are not laughing anymore." Trump addressed the nation. What did he talk about?
It was expected that the US president would declare war on Venezuela, but he dedicated his entire speech to his achievements — "in the last 11 months, we have brought more positive change to Washington than any administration in American history."

Donald Trump sharply attacked his predecessor, insisting that his leadership of the country only contains victories.
"Eleven months ago, I inherited a mess, and I am fixing it. When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say in the entire history of our country, which led to prices being higher than ever before, making life unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans. This happened under a Democratic administration," he said.
According to him, the border was open. And because of this, "an army of 25 million people invaded the country, many of whom came from prisons and colonies, mental hospitals. These were drug dealers, gang members, and even 11,888 murderers, more than 50 percent of whom killed more than one person. This is what the Biden administration allowed to happen to the country."
Men played in women's sports, crime was at a record high, he said.
"The whole world laughed at us. But they are not laughing anymore. In the last 11 months, we have brought more positive change to Washington than any administration in American history."
According to him, for the last four years, the United States was governed by politicians who fought only for illegal immigrants, professional criminals, corporate lobbyists, terrorists, and, above all, foreign powers that took advantage of the US.
"They flooded your cities and towns with illegal immigrants. They destroyed your hard-earned savings. They taught your children to hate America, released such a number of violent criminals as we have never seen to hunt the innocent. They caused war. They caused chaos. They caused a terrible situation all over the world," Trump exacerbated.
But now, he assured, the US has a president who fights for the country's law-abiding, hardworking people. "Those who make this nation move, who make this nation work. And in just one year, we have achieved more than anyone could have imagined."
First and foremost, Trump spoke about stopping the migration flow.
"In the last seven months, not a single illegal immigrant has been allowed to enter our country — a feat that everyone called absolutely impossible. Do you remember how Joe Biden said he needed Congress to pass a law to help close the border? He always blamed Congress and everyone else. As it turned out, we didn't need legislation. We just needed a new president."
Trump noted that the crime rate in the country has fallen.
"Just look at Washington, D.C. There's a level of security there we've never seen before. And they destroyed bloodthirsty foreign drug cartels. We did it ourselves, with our people, and we are so proud of it, because they were poisoning and destroying our population."
The United States now has "the most powerful armed forces in the world, and no one else is even close."
"I restored American power, settled eight wars in 10 months, destroyed the Iranian nuclear threat, and ended the war in Gaza, bringing peace to the Middle East for the first time in 3000 years and securing the release of hostages, both living and dead."
In the country itself, according to him, the US is bringing the economy back "from the brink."
"The previous administration and their allies in Congress plundered our treasury by trillions of dollars, raising prices on everything to levels never seen before. I am lowering these high prices and lowering them very quickly."
Prices are falling, and wages are rising, Trump says. "And for the first time in many years, wages are growing significantly faster than inflation."
Business is returning to the country, new jobs are being created, and they are going to Americans, not migrants.
"A large part of this success has been achieved thanks to tariffs — my favorite word, tariffs, which for many decades were successfully used by other countries against us, but not now."
"A year ago, our country was dead. We were absolutely dead. Our country was ready for collapse. Complete collapse. Now we are the most popular country in the world. And every leader I've spoken to in the last five months says this."
Trump also promised the biggest tax cut in American history, an effective healthcare system.
"We are putting America first, and we are making America great again. Very simply: we are making America great again."
