"Make America Go Away". Tens of thousands in Greenland and Denmark protest against the USA
On Saturday, January 17, large-scale protests took place in Greenland and Denmark against US President Donald Trump's demands to transfer the island under American control. Participants in the actions declared their readiness to fight for their freedom and demanded respect for their right to independently determine the future of the country.

In Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, the most massive protest in the island's history took place, led by Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen.
Thousands of people with national flags marched to the US consulate, chanting "Kalaallit Nunaat" (the island's name in Greenlandic) and holding placards "Greenland is not for sale".

A numerous procession took place in Copenhagen, where more than 20,000 people took to the streets. Protesters held slogans "No means no" and "Hands off Greenland".
Particular attention was drawn to participants in red caps, who parodied the style of Trump's supporters, but with the inscription "Make America Go Away".

Protesters emphasized that Greenland is not a commodity, and its future must be determined by its residents themselves.
Donald Trump promised to raise tariffs for European countries to 25% if an agreement on the purchase of the island is not reached by June.
The EU is convening an emergency meeting of ambassadors over Trump's tariff war for Greenland. Ambassadors from 27 EU countries will gather for an emergency meeting on Sunday in connection with this.
