Due to a conflict with her ex-friend and manager, singer Lera Yaskevich will be forced to delete all her songs

Lera Yaskevich told fans that after February 16, her songs will no longer be available on all music platforms — she will delete them herself. The reason for this is a conflict between the singer and her ex-manager and former best friend Hanna Navitskaya.

«When I just started releasing tracks, Anya said that they needed to be registered with the National Intellectual Property Center. And that everything earned between us should be split 50/50 (this was the case with money for performances, blog advertising, corporate events, etc.). She [Hanna] was registered as the author of all songs, even where she was not actually the author. At the time, I thought this was fair and didn't know that in the future it would be used against me, that it really carried such legal importance (yes, it's my own fault, I know)», — the singer commented.

Lera Yaskevich met Hanna Navitskaya when she was 17 years old. Navitskaya helped Yaskevich enroll in the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts, took her to the Ukrainian X-Factor, managed her, and was her best friend — the girls even rented an apartment together. The friendship and cooperation lasted for 10 years, after which it fractured — Navitskaya is now working on a new project in Belarus, the band «Barysauski Trakt» (Borisov Tract), while Yaskevich lives in forced emigration in Poland, dealing with the consequences of her past trust.

«Many of my decisions I made considering our friendship, because I was a person who needed a friend. Our relationship was not formally documented, so many work-related things were done based on friendship, which influenced what we have now».

The singer also said that she tried in every way to keep her tracks on music platforms. She also tried to find a compromise with Navitskaya that would satisfy both sides, but nothing came of it.

«Therefore, I decided to delete all my tracks to free myself from dependence on this person. Just erase everything and start over. I don't need anyone else's money, anyone else's songs. I need my freedom and independence. I hope you can accept my decision», — she concluded.

Hanna Navitskaya herself is not commenting on the conflict at the moment, including not answering journalists' questions.

In the future, Yaskevich will be able to restore only the songs from her latest album «Then. Now. After», released in 2024, and everything released later.
