At the moment the fire broke out, a group of teenagers was relaxing in the bathhouse. According to preliminary data, only one girl — 16-year-old Sofia — managed to escape.
Reportedly, all five victims in the Kuzbass sauna were teenagers aged 14-17. Most of the deceased were first-year students of a physical education technical school. They were allegedly celebrating the birthdays of three friends — two Lizavetas and one Siarhei. This week, they turned 16 and 17, one after another.
Alcohol and food could be brought to parties in the bathhouse complex, despite the establishment positioning itself as family-friendly.
At a certain moment, a fire broke out in one of the steam rooms, spreading to the entire complex. Not all visitors managed to evacuate, and rescuers are still searching for two more people. The fire covered an area of 70 square meters.
