Young man from Mogilev dodged the draft at home, but ended up going to fight for Russia and disappeared. His mother hopes he is at least a prisoner of war
«Please tell me! I'm from Belarus, my son is missing. Where should I turn? Is it true that I should contact the Red Cross so they can look for him among prisoners of war? Please tell me!» — laments the mother of 23-year-old Uladzislau Tarasenka from Mogilev in Telegram chats, attaching his brave photo in military uniform.

His mother Alena is looking for her son Uladzislau. The young man was last in contact on January 29, 2026, and since then — silence. To increase the likelihood of identification, the woman attaches a photo of her son in camouflage uniform, as well as a screenshot of him live from a Telegram video circle.
The young man is still very young; he was born in November 2002.
Indeed, his troubles started quite early. According to Belpol, even before Uladzislau turned 18, he earned his first conviction — he took a battery and a car radio from an old Volvo belonging to someone else. The owner estimated the damage at 200 rubles. By adulthood, Uladzislau earned a second criminal record — when he started evading the military enlistment office.
What led the ideological draft dodger to the war against Ukraine is unknown. According to his mother, the young man served in military unit 42091, 2nd company.
Military unit 42091 is the 108th Guards Air Assault Regiment, also known as the «Kuban Cossack». The regiment took part in suppressing the Hungarian Uprising (1956) and Czechoslovak protests (1968), participated in the intervention in Georgia, and is now throwing bodies at Ukrainian positions.
In 2022, Ukraine eliminated the then-commander of the regiment, Colonel Vitaly Sukuev.
The regiment's losses in Ukraine are catastrophic because its soldiers directly engage in suicidal attacks on Ukrainian positions. Hundreds of Uladzislau's like him die every day. New messages about the search for mercenaries missing in Ukraine appear several times a day in the regiment's Telegram chat for relatives.
