The most successful Belarusian businesswoman doubled the profitability of fish harvesting in the Far East

The profit of the Far Eastern fish harvesting company "Soyuznye Rybnye Promysly" (Union Fish Industries), 50% of which belongs to Belarusian businesswoman Lyudmila Nyaronskaya, grew by almost 100% last year, writes the publication "Belarusy i Rynok" (Belarusians and the Market).

Since 2023, this company has monopolistically developed the annual quota for fish harvesting in the Bering and Okhotsk Seas, which Russian authorities allocate to Belarus. Last year, "Soyuznye Rybnye Promysly" accounted for about 85% of the total quota (56 thousand out of 65 thousand tons), which was generously provided by Rosrybolovstvo (Russian Federal Agency for Fishery).

For "Soyuznye Rybnye Promysly", it consisted of pollock and herring.

However, the quota was not fully utilized. This affected the revenue of "Soyuznye Rybnye Promysly", which decreased by almost 25% compared to the previous year — to 2 billion Russian rubles (about 25.5 million US dollars). But in terms of profit, the business grew. "Soyuznye Rybnye Promysly" earned 540 million Russian rubles (almost 7 million US dollars) in net profit last year, which is twice as much as the year before.

For the current year, the Belarusian side requested an increase in the quota to almost 100 thousand tons, "diversifying" it with shrimp and more valuable fish species (cod, etc.). Lyudmila Nyaronskaya wanted 80% of it.

However, Russia ignored the request and, moreover, even cut the quota for the current year. It will amount to less than 60 thousand tons.

Earlier, it was reported how Nyaronskaya, thanks to her friendship with the family of Lukashenka's elder son Viktar, profits from the fish business in Belarus and Russia together with Lukashenka's young son-in-law Dzmitry Dzyatlav. The latter holds the position of Deputy for General Affairs in two of Lyudmila Nyaronskaya's companies — "Morskiye Sezony" (Marine Seasons) and "Morskiye Promysly" (Marine Industries), where his gross monthly salary exceeds 10 thousand Belarusian rubles.

Furthermore, "Bureau" recently found out that not only the son-in-law but also Viktar Lukashenka's son — Aliaksandr Lukashenka Jr. — works in Nyaronskaya's structures. He owns 20% of the company "Sezon Upakouki" (Packaging Season), which will be engaged in the production of corrugated paper and cardboard, as well as paper and cardboard packaging. The firm is registered in the special economic zone "Bremina-Orsha", which due to its extensive benefits and preferences, was popularly nicknamed the "Orsha offshore".

The children of Nyaronskaya and Aliaksandr Lukashenka's elder son Viktar studied together at Minsk Gymnasium No. 16. In 2019, Nyaronskaya, along with her children, Viktar Lukashenka's children, and his wife, flew on a private business jet from Minsk to Dubai. Viktar Lukashenka also joined them on the return journey.
