Recently, another three cars, declared ownerless by the court, were sent for crushing.
A video showing the process of disposing of abandoned cars appeared on the Telegram channel of the Pervomaysky district of Minsk.
It should be noted that ownerless cars are not sent for crushing immediately. First, officials contact the traffic police (DAI) with a request to identify the owner. After that, a written demand is sent to them to tidy up the property within one month.
If the owner does not respond or cannot be found, the car junk is moved to a guarded parking lot. However, this is not the end. Owners can contact the administration of their district within 3 months with a demand to return the car.
If no such document is received, officials apply to the court with a request to declare the vehicle ownerless and transfer it to the municipal property of the city of Minsk.
After the court's decision comes into force, the car is disposed of.
