An empty tent of missing climbers, including two Belarusians, found in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan have discovered an empty tent belonging to a climbing group that went missing in the mountains of the Osh region after ascending Karumdu Peak. The tourists have not been in contact since August 4, when they reported being ready to descend to the base camp.
The missing group consists of two Belarusians and one citizen of Lithuania.
Search and rescue operations are ongoing at an altitude of about 5,000 meters, involving rescuers, border guards, and volunteer guides from Switzerland.
The Embassy of Belarus in Kyrgyzstan is maintaining contact with local authorities and relatives of the missing persons.
