Minsk Resident Broke Neck While Vacationing in Pruzhany

A capital resident ignored the ban on jumping into the water. It cost him very dearly.

Accident scene

The accident happened during the day on Saturday in Pruzhany, on Lake Papernya.

Signs prohibiting jumping into the water are installed around the pier. The thing is, even 7 meters from the shore, the depth is only 130 centimeters.

Rescuers repeatedly warned those who were vacationing. But one of them dived headfirst anyway, hit the bottom, and lost consciousness.

On-duty rescuers saved the 32-year-old Minsk resident, after which he was urgently hospitalized in intensive care. The injured person was diagnosed with a compression fracture of three cervical vertebrae.
