The Polotsk Dairy Plant found itself in a difficult financial situation and filed for bankruptcy itself. This issue was considered in the Economic Court of the Vitebsk region, writes Office Life.

According to court documents, the enterprise's total debt amounts to over 377 million rubles, of which about 71 million are already overdue debts. Approximately 930 enforcement proceedings for significant sums in various currencies have been opened against the plant. Meanwhile, all of the enterprise's assets are estimated at approximately
260 million rubles, and a significant portion of them are pledged.
More than 1300 people work at the plant, making it an important enterprise for the city. It is almost entirely (more than 99%) state-owned and produces dairy products under various brands.
Earlier, it was reported that this enterprise was to come under the management of the large holding "Savushkin Product". The holding plans to purchase the plant's assets, invest about 70 million euros, and create modern production facilities on its basis.
At first glance, filing for bankruptcy seems unexpected, but it is most likely a technical step related to large debts and legal requirements. The "Savushkin Product" holding itself states that it is not abandoning its plans: it intends to acquire the plant's property through an auction after its valuation within the bankruptcy procedure.
The court has already initiated the bankruptcy process and appointed an anti-crisis manager. The next hearing in this case is scheduled for the end of July.
