Remains of 32 unborn children found on the property of a pathologist doctor in Poland
In the Polish village of Lutoryż, near the city of Rzeszów, law enforcement officers made a gruesome discovery. The remains of 32 human fetuses were found buried on a private plot belonging to a 57-year-old pathologist doctor. RMF24 reports this.
The doctor has been taken into custody. During interrogation, she admitted to burying the fetuses herself. The investigation currently has no information about anyone assisting her.
Police officers, along with a specially trained search dog, continue to dig up the estate's territory. At this moment, the discovery of 32 fetuses, hidden underground at various depths, has been officially confirmed.
In addition to the remains, a large quantity of medical waste was found in the yard, including microscope slides and fragments of destroyed hospital documentation.
According to unofficial information, the doctor herself explains her actions as being for scientific purposes. She claims that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she allegedly took material from hospitals where she worked to conduct medical research at home.
The investigation is currently in its early stages and is checking several versions of events. Among other things, the prosecutor's office has requested documents from all medical institutions where the suspect was employed.
Prosecutors specifically emphasized that there is currently no evidence that the doctor performed illegal abortions. All found remains have been sent to the morgue for examination. Specialists must determine how long they were underground and exactly where they came from to the private plot.
The woman has been taken into custody. She has so far been charged with desecrating remains (keeping them outside burial places) and illegal storage of hazardous medical waste.
