The action was held under the slogan "Students Win" ("Studenti pobeđuju"). Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has repeatedly stated that elections will be held this year, but they have not yet been officially scheduled.
According to police estimates, about 34,000 people participated in the action. Non-governmental institutions estimated the number of protesters at 180-190 thousand people and called this action the largest since the overthrow of former Serbian and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milošević in 2000.

Clashes occurred between protesters and police during the rally. The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported dozens of arrests.
Protests in Belgrade have been ongoing for a year and a half — since December 2024, when a concrete canopy collapsed at the Novi Sad train station, killing 16 people. Protesters believe that the tragedy was the result of corruption by the current government, writes "Meduza".
