US Imposes Sanctions on Firm in Belarus That Helped Iran Purchase MANPADS from China
The US Department of State announced new sanctions against several legal and natural persons. All of them are involved in the procurement of weapons and military equipment for the needs of the Iranian army. There is a Belarusian trace there.
Companies and individuals who organized shadow supply chains for weapons, bypassing international prohibitions, including with the involvement of Chinese manufacturers, fell under the restrictions.
According to the official press release of the State Department, the Belarusian-registered company Armory Alliance acted as a key intermediary in one of the major arms schemes.
According to the American side, the company served as a liaison between Chinese manufacturers and Tehran. It was directly involved in organizing and facilitating the purchase of hundreds of portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
To circumvent sanctions, attempts were made to route supplies of anti-aircraft missiles from China to Iran through third countries, by altering documents, changing the country of origin of the cargo, and concealing the real end buyer — the Iranian army.
Along with the company itself, its employee — Iranian citizen Mohammadmahdi Maleki, who lives in Belarus and directly oversaw these arms contracts — also fell under personal sanctions. Previously, in May 2026, this same company had already been hit with restrictions by the US Department of the Treasury; now, the sanctions have expanded through the State Department.
