Investigators of the Polotsk Interdistrict Department of the Investigative Committee established the fact of illegal hunting. One of its participants was detained, and the other managed to escape, but his identity has already been established.

The incident occurred on the night of June 5. Traffic police officers stopped a UAZ Patriot SUV, driven by a 54-year-old man. There was also a passenger in the cabin.
During the check, law enforcement officers asked to open the car's trunk, but the driver refused and tried to escape. Soon the car was stopped again, and the driver was detained. The passenger, however, managed to disappear from the scene.
During the inspection of the car, investigators found fabric with traces of blood. Later, a part of a wild boar carcass and skin, as well as a pistol, were found in the forest.
During the search of the hunters' residences, СК (Investigative Committee) employees confiscated hunting rifles and a knife, which, according to the investigation, the men used to butcher the illegally obtained animal.
All found items, including the car, have been recognized as material evidence. Necessary examinations have been ordered.
According to preliminary estimates, the damage caused to the environment amounted to 5.4 thousand rubles.
A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of illegal hunting, which led to significant damage. The detained driver has been questioned, and he has fully compensated for the damage caused. He has been given an obligation to appear.
