A grandmother with little money was treated contemptuously in a cafe — a Minsk resident paid for her lunch. "Panski Dranik" has its own version of events
"When I said I would pay for everything, the grandmother burst into tears."

Minsk resident Kristina shared a touching story on Threads. The events unfolded at the "Panski Dranik" cafe, located on Rakauskaya Street. An elderly woman came in – she was very modest, it was clear she felt uncomfortable.
The grandmother approached the cafe staff and asked what she could eat. Kristina claims that they treated the client with contempt: one of the waitresses unenthusiastically showed her a table where she could sit. "Then the waiter approached the grandmother, brought a menu, and reluctantly started answering her questions. The grandmother explained that she had poor eyesight and hearing, and asked him to tell her what was available for the first and second course. The waiter was impolite; he stood there and got angry when the grandmother asked again, answering with irritation. It turned out the grandmother only had enough money for soup."
Kristina couldn't observe this situation indifferently. She approached the waiter and asked what the woman wanted to order for the second course. The Minsk resident says that the waiter reacted irritably to her as well, stating that the elderly visitor had already ordered soup: "When I said she wanted to choose something else, he told me: 'Well, ask her yourself, whatever you offer her, it's all expensive for her, she has no money.'"

The visitor emphasizes that the waiter said this with contempt.
Then Kristina herself approached the grandmother with the menu and suggested she choose something else: "And she tells me: 'I only have 20 rubles.' When I said I would pay for everything, the grandmother burst into tears. We chose borscht, potato pancakes (draniki) with trout, and sea buckthorn tea. And then the grandmother asked something that almost made me cry myself: 'Tell me, why were you so kind to me?'"
Kristina is surprised that the elderly woman was used to contemptuous treatment and doesn't understand why people don't feel the desire to help when it comes to food.
Within 5 hours, the post garnered over 70 thousand views and many comments. Witnesses to the situation were also found: "You are a great person for noticing and helping the grandmother! My friends and I were sitting at the next table yesterday, but I only paid attention when you had already approached the grandmother and hugged her. And the male waiter's communication was absolutely rude and unprofessional even towards you, let alone the grandmother. It was our first and last time there."
Other commentators also confirmed that rude waiters are not uncommon in this cafe: "We were at this "Panski Dranik," and to be honest, we could buy everything on the menu there. The waiters also spoke to us absolutely rudely, even though we simply asked them to explain what certain dishes were, we always speak very politely, and their rudeness and arrogant demeanor simply confused us. Of course, we won't come again."
Given how quickly the story spread, "Panski Dranik" also decided to comment. They stated on social media that an investigation had been conducted, during which surveillance camera footage was thoroughly reviewed – the cameras record both video and audio.

It is claimed that no rudeness from the staff was found: "The elderly woman was not in a critical situation. Our guest herself was very confused by the fact that the girl next to her suddenly interfered and decided to pay for her. The context of the situation was completely misinterpreted by the author of the post."
They do not plan to publish the recording, but it is stated that they can show it to anyone who asks.
