New Chairman of Ostrovets District Executive Committee Went to Church Immediately After Appointment
On July 31, Ruslan Zhukouski, the new chairman of the Ostrovets District Executive Committee, who had been appointed to the post three days prior, visited the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Scapular in the village of Gudagai, Ostrovets District, reports Katolik.life.
The Catholic sanctuary was one of the first places the head of the district visited in his new role, having been approved for the position only on July 28.
The official visited the shrine privately, as indicated by the parish's announcement. There, prayers were offered for him, asking for abundant Divine blessing.
There is no public information on whether the new chairman of the Ostrovets District Executive Committee is Catholic by faith. He himself is from Ashmyany, and prior to his new appointment, he worked as the first deputy chairman of the Smarhon District Executive Committee.
