Former Nexta editor Yan Rudzik became a father. He and his family moved to Poland
Yan shared what they named their daughter and why they decided to move from Ukraine.
Yan Rudzik, former Nexta editor and former volunteer of the Kalinoŭski Regiment, has become a father. He says his daughter was born in Ukraine.
They named her Renata. "We chose for a long time so that it would be both Slavic and Tatar, and not too complicated," he explains. His wife Elvira was born in Azerbaijan, but by blood, she is half Tatar, half Ukrainian.
Soon after the birth of their daughter, the family began preparing to move from Ukraine to Poland:
"The thing is, we left to get everyone's documents through my Polish permanent residency. Because Elvira and I are foreigners, our daughter couldn't get any document in Ukraine except for a birth certificate.
But for everything that was, I am grateful to Ukraine: I left alone, and I returned with a family!
I gained life experience, saw the war. It was an honor to defend Ukraine, and I thank the Ukrainian side for the opportunity and trust."
The family is now settling in Warsaw.
