A vigilant pensioner helped find the thief.
A local resident reported to the Partizansky District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital about the theft of a car seat, which he briefly left unattended near the entrance, writes "Minsk Police".
The police identified and detained the suspect — a 60-year-old Minsk resident who works as a coach-masseur in one of Minsk's sports centers.
The victim unloaded the three-seater seat from his car in the yard of the house and briefly walked away, leaving the property unattended. At that moment, the suspect drove into the yard, loaded the seat into his car, and drove away.
A pensioner was watching what was happening from the window of her apartment. The woman managed to write down the suspect's car's license plate number and handed this information over to law enforcement.
The detainee explained that he took the stolen property solely for personal use — he planned to install the seat at his dacha.
A criminal case has been initiated for theft. The stolen property has been confiscated and will be returned to its rightful owner in the near future.
