Various Services Working at the Site of the Explosion in a Gomel House

In Gomel, the aftermath of the explosion in a residential building on Kosareva Street continues to be dealt with. As a result of the incident, apartment ceilings collapsed there. There is no information about casualties yet, but some residents had to be evacuated.

Following the explosion of a gas-air mixture in the house on Kosareva Street, a meeting of the emergency commission was held. Sergei Dychkovsky, Head of the Gomel Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, announced that all residents who required accommodation were provided with hotels and meals.

Eight people who needed housing were accommodated in the "Sozh" hotel, while the rest stayed with relatives. A resident of the house, Natalia, said that she was at work during the explosion, and later her neighbors and police officers called her, asking her to urgently leave the house. The woman noted that during the explosion, only her cat, Sasha, was in their apartment, whom the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees caught and returned to her.

Evacuation efforts are being led by the Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee. The main task now is to reinforce the external walls of the building and dismantle the internal structures.

"To document the overall trace pattern and the debris dispersion, aerial photography using a quadcopter was carried out. An inspection of the area adjacent to the house is being conducted, and external damages to the building have been recorded," the Investigative Committee reported.

Ministry of Emergency Situations psychologists are working at the site. Additionally, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Red Cross representatives have organized modules for heating and supporting people.

Relevant specialists will inspect the house at Kosareva Street, 3 within 24 hours and provide recommendations for its further use.

Andrei Baranovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee, noted that 78 people lived in the affected section of the building, including 11 children and 4 elderly people who require bed rest. Special care has been organized for them.

The explosion occurred on the seventh floor, where pensioners were located, who were urgently evacuated and provided with assistance.
