Former Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Valerii Zaluzhny plans to leave the post of ambassador to Great Britain in January. The Ukrainian publication Nv.ua reports this, citing four sources in political and diplomatic circles.

According to interlocutors close to the Office of the President of Ukraine, the former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed Zelenskyy about this several weeks ago.
— He and the president discussed various positions for Zaluzhny — from prime minister to head of the President's Office, but at that moment he showed no interest, — sources of the publication note.
According to other sources, for some time Zaluzhny even considered the post of ambassador to the USA or Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but currently there are no decisions regarding this. The change of ambassador to the USA is not currently being discussed, interlocutors say.
NV interlocutors do not rule out that Zaluzhny may return to Kyiv and announce his decision on January 4-5, if «nothing influences his decision.»
Valerii Zaluzhny was dismissed from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2024. Several months later, he was appointed Ukraine's ambassador to Great Britain.
