Lukashenka stated that Belarus lacks the Soviet-era management system
As a positive example of a country that lives by relying on the experience of the Communist Party, he named China.

Belarus lacks the management system that existed in Soviet times. Aleksandr Lukashenka expressed this opinion during a working trip to the Vileika district, BelTA writes.
"I cannot boast that the party (Communist Party) played a decisive role in my life. There was enough of everything.
But I must say — perhaps for some of you, especially for young people, this will sound unpopular — today the country precisely lacks that management system which once existed in the Soviet Union," Aleksandr Lukashenka stated.
"Therefore, this is both a task and nostalgia. It is my firm conviction that we lack that management system," he added.
"I feel this most of all. And everyone who cares about the state also feels it. These are not my feelings of today or yesterday," Lukashenka said. "Having worked as president for a very long time, I, more than anyone else, feel that this system of state management is lacking. Serious personnel work is lacking. No matter how much I tried to build the vertical of power and other things (this was and remains a salvation for the country), the structure is still lacking."
As a positive example of a country that, relying on the experience of the Communist Party and preserving its legacy and state management system, is successfully developing, Aleksandr Lukashenka named China.
"I was often criticized for studying the experience and management system of the PRC. Well, they didn't break anything foolishly. They learned from us, in many ways acting similarly. I don't want to say they copied, but they took what was sensible for themselves.
They didn't break anything: neither the ideology, nor the politics of Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, and so on. No one destroyed anything. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for the success of the PRC," he said.
"I suggest you think about this," he addressed the meeting participants. "I know you don't want this. Why do you need these party bodies that will deal with personnel, and party bureaus you have to attend? You are already managing independently (locally). But if you look from a state point of view, the system will have to be built and adjusted."
