"Belorusneft" extracted 2 million tons of oil in a year for the first time in 30 years.
The "Belorusneft" concern announced that oil workers have reached a historic milestone: by the end of 2025, the volume of extracted oil amounted to 2 million tons.
New technologies became the main factor for success. Thanks to digital control and horizontal drilling methods, specialists were able to extract oil from hard-to-reach formations that were previously considered unpromising.
In 1975, the enterprise reached its peak annual oil production – about 8 million tons. Subsequently, due to limited reserves and other reasons, this level declined for decades. Only in 2017 did volumes begin to gradually increase.
As early as next year, oil workers plan to extract 2.1 million tons, and by 2030, to reach an annual level of 2.3 million tons.
