In the third-round match, the Belarusian tennis player defeated Latvian representative Alona Ostapenko in two sets — 6:4, 6:4.

Sabalenka took the initiative from the start of the match and controlled the course of the game, not allowing her opponent to turn the situation around. The match lasted about an hour and a half.
In the fight for a place in the quarterfinals, Sabalenka will meet Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka, who ranks 14th in the world rankings.
On the way to the 1/8 finals, the Belarusian previously defeated Serb Teodora Kostović and American Macartney Kessler.
Another Belarusian representative, Iryna Shymanovich, who made it to the main draw through qualification, stopped her performance in the first round, losing to Swiss Viktorija Golubic.
This year's Wimbledon runs from June 29 to July 11. The total prize fund of the tournament is 62.4 million pounds sterling, and the winners in the singles categories will receive 3.6 million pounds each.
