Throughout the next week, under the influence of a high atmospheric pressure area, formed in a cold air mass, abnormally low air temperatures will persist in Belarus — mainly 8–18 degrees below the average long-term values (the climatic norm for the second and third decades of January is minus 1.4–4.5 and minus 3.2–6.6 degrees, respectively).
Nighttime lows will range from minus 10 to minus 25 degrees; with clearings, the air will cool to minus 28 in some places, while daytime highs will be from minus 5 degrees in the western regions to minus 18 degrees in the eastern regions of the country.
On Friday, January 16, 17–24 degrees of frost are expected at night, in some places — minus 25–28, in the west — minus 10–16. During the day — from minus 7 degrees in the southwest to minus 16 degrees in the northeast.
On Saturday night, minus 17–24 degrees, in some places — up to minus 28, in the western and extreme southeastern regions — minus 14–16. During the day, it will be 8–15 degrees of frost, in some places — up to minus 17.
On Sunday night, minus 18–25 degrees, in some places — up to minus 28, in the western regions — minus 16–17. During the day — 9–15 degrees of frost, in some places — up to minus 18.
On Monday—Tuesday, January 19—20, it will be mostly without precipitation. In some areas, there will be light fog and hoarfrost. Icy conditions in places on the roads. Nighttime air temperatures will be minus 18–25 degrees, in some places — up to minus 28, in the western regions — minus 12–17. During the day — 8–15 degrees of frost, on January 20, in some places in the west — minus 5–7.
On Wednesday, January 21, at night with clearings — up to minus 25, in the north — minus 12–15. During the day — 5–12 degrees of frost, in some places — up to minus 14.
