The European Aquatics Federation changed the rules for the participation of Belarusian and Russian athletes in its competitions. Now, junior and youth athletes from Belarus and Russia can compete in international tournaments under their own national flags.

Restrictions for athletes with Belarusian and Russian passports in youth and junior categories have been lifted for both individual and team events. In all competitions, they are allowed to participate without additional biographical verification, using state symbols, uniforms, anthems, and other official elements — provided that national federations have valid accreditation with European Aquatics.
However, adult athletes and team representatives can still only compete after obtaining neutral status.
