Nine cars and an electric bicycle— Bykhaw resident's night stroll ended in a criminal case
At the end of November, reports of thefts from car interiors came to the police one after another from car owners. Nine thefts occurred on the night from Saturday to Sunday.

In all cases, the car doors were unlocked, as a result, car owners lost car radios, Bluetooth speakers, money, or car keys. As for a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, an unknown person drove it several blocks and left it, to the owner's delight, in technically sound condition.
In addition, on the same day and on the same street where the car theft occurred, an electric bicycle disappeared from another Bykhaw resident's outbuilding.
During the inspection of the crime scenes, a forensic expert from the Bykhaw Interdistrict Department of the State Committee of Forensic Examinations discovered several shoe prints. Law enforcement officers promptly detained the suspect in the thefts and carjacking — he turned out to be an unemployed, previously repeatedly convicted 40-year-old local resident.

A forensic trace examination was conducted on the suspect's sneakers and the discovered shoe prints. A match was established between his footwear and two prints at the crime scenes based on general characteristics.
Part of the stolen property was confiscated from the man, some he had managed to sell. A criminal case against the car enthusiast has been sent to court.
