The US president stated that "very good talks" are ongoing regarding Russia's war against Ukraine. According to him, as a result of the talks, "something could happen," Reuters reports.
"There have been very, very good talks concerning Russia and Ukraine. Maybe something will happen," the American leader noted in a conversation with journalists.
Earlier, Reuters reported that American and Ukrainian negotiators discussed concluding a peace agreement in March, but this deadline is likely to be postponed due to discussions around the territorial issue.
Additionally, Reuters sources reported that the US and Ukraine discussed the prospects of possible referendums and elections in May.
Earlier, the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated that Russia is dragging out the negotiations in Abu Dhabi. According to him, such behavior is the traditional essence of the Russian Federation, writes UNIAN.
"They say: 'We are ready for anything without any conditions, but, but, but…'. They are dragging out this process. And for us, it is important that concrete decisive actions, which Ukrainians and Americans can demonstrate together, make it clear to the Russians that they need to negotiate an end to this war," Stefanchuk emphasized.
