Yesterday "The Gates of Minsk" nearly flooded for a strange reason
Utility workers often talk about the biggest problem in new buildings — sewage blockages due to residents flushing various unsuitable items down it. Sometimes construction materials are thrown into the toilet, sometimes wet wipes.

It turns out this problem is relevant for older buildings too. "The Gates of Minsk" was left without water for a very strange reason. Details were shared in the Telegram channel of Kastrychnitsky District.
Yesterday night, following a report from residents at building No. 2 on Kirov Street, an emergency service worked to shut off the water supply to prevent numerous apartments from flooding. Yesterday morning, specialists from ZES No. 1 of Kastrychnitsky District began work. They tackled a blockage that had formed in the sewage system.
The cause was quickly discovered: someone flushed cat litter down the main drainpipe. It seemed, what terrible consequences could this, at first glance, innocent action have?
The thing is that, once in the sewage system, the material turned into a "stone" and was resistant to mechanical action. There was another difficulty: it took time to dismantle the casing of the niche containing the utilities.
As a result, the work lasted until lunchtime. The blockage was removed, and the water supply was restored. Now residents are aware that it's better to dispose of the litter in another way.
