GUBOP Employee Imprisoned for Corruption. In the Colony, He Ended Up in the Same Squad as Political Prisoners
Former GUBOP employee Stanislav Kruk has been convicted under a corruption article and is serving his sentence in PC-3 Vitsebsk. The detention and trial of the ex-law enforcer were not publicly reported. Former prisoners told the "Zerkalo" publication details of Kruk's stay in the penal colony.

From the Ministry of Internal Affairs to PC-3
Stanislav Kruk is 33 years old. In the past, he was listed among GUBOP employees, "Zerkalo" found out with the help of the Belpol organization. How long he worked there and what exactly he did is unknown.
Before this, for several years, Kruk worked as an inspector in the citizenship and migration department of the Pershamaiski District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk. In January 2020, he represented this organization at a meeting with students of the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University (BDATU).
Kruk's detention and trial were not publicly reported. No one has accessed his VK account since June 2023. Few details are available about the case of the ex-law enforcer. Former political prisoners who crossed paths with him behind bars mentioned corruption charges. One of them named a sentence of nine years.
In the autumn of 2023, Kruk was assigned to a squad in correctional colony No. 3 in Vitsebsk. As of January 2024, PC-3 is listed as his place of work, according to official data obtained by "Zerkalo" with the help of "Cyberpartisans".

«Go on, try to hit me right now»
According to one former prisoner, in the colony "the entire squad knew" that Kruk was from GUBOP. Already in the first days, this almost led to a confrontation, another source said. Then one of the political prisoners turned to the ex-law enforcer with the question: «Was it good to hit people who were tied up? Go on, try to hit me right now.» The men moved towards each other, but other prisoners intervened and pulled them apart.
Behind bars, Kruk began cooperating with the colony's administration from the very first days: «Immediately active, immediately recruited by the operatives.» Quite quickly, the ex-law enforcer became the foreman of the "dismantling" — a metal dismantling enterprise where prisoners are forced to work. He also performed the duties of a daily orderly in his squad.
«The worst thing about him is that he still doesn't understand that he has been thrown out of the system and needs to rebuild himself. He acts arrogantly towards political prisoners. It's clear that he committed acts in 2020, although he claims he was just an ordinary lawyer,» former political prisoner Ihar told "Zerkalo".
According to those released from PC-3, Kruk «ratted everyone out.» The squad understood this and did not particularly like the ex-law enforcer. Two people mentioned friendly gestures and remarks from him, but at the same time characterized him as an «unprincipled» and «dangerous» person.
