According to Belstat data, while at the beginning of last year there were 20.7 thousand "electric cars" owned by citizens, by January 2026, this figure reached 44.7 thousand.
As recently as early 2024, there were only 9 thousand private electric cars in the country. Today, the total number of registered electric vehicles (including commercial transport) is about 54 thousand, of which almost half — 22 thousand — are in Minsk.
Authorities predict that by 2030, the number of such vehicles in Belarus will grow to 300 thousand units. For comparison: the total fleet of passenger cars in the country at the end of 2025 was about 3.2 million cars.
Along with the growing popularity of electric drive, the network of "charging stations" is also developing. Over the past 12 months, the number of charging stations has increased by one and a half times:
- at the beginning of 2025: 1,323 stations;
- at the beginning of 2026: 2,026 stations.
According to plans, by 2030, the network should include at least 18 thousand charging points across the country.
