Representatives of the fund said that the decision came as a surprise to them. In a message published on social networks, they assure that they conducted transparent activities: they published annual reports and disclosed data on collections:
"We never thought we would have to report such news. But, alas. On March 19, by a resolution of the board of the Main Department of Justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee, a decision was made to liquidate the SBU "KinderVita". For us, this is a complete surprise. The official wording is "due to the performance of activities that do not comply with the goals and subject of activity specified in the charter."
You, our benefactors and subscribers, know how many children undergoing treatment in the oncology center we have helped during this time. How many we supported in a difficult moment. With how many children we went through the journey from diagnosis to ringing the Bell of remission. How many smiles and joys we brought to the oncology center.
All this time we have been honest with ourselves and with you. We tried to ensure that you saw that help reached its destination. We prepared and published weekly, quarterly, and annual reports. We published figures for each of the collections. We always warmly welcomed those who wanted to volunteer and experience the work of "KinderVita" from the inside. For 5 years we have worked within the legal framework of the country. We respect its laws, so now, however painful it may be, we must comply with the requirements of the governing bodies. Unfortunately, there is no other way."
The fund emphasized that all donations on the accounts, remaining toys, and hygiene products will be distributed among those in need and transferred to the oncology center.
An Onliner journalist decided to clarify the situation and contacted the main department of justice of the Minsk City Executive Committee, but the department refused to comment on the situation with the KinderVita fund.
The KinderVita fund was founded in 2021 by Nadezhda Mantsevich. In 2019, her child was diagnosed with an oncological disease, and she decided to create a charitable organization to help sick children. Over the years, the fund has held many vibrant events for children in the oncology center. Mrs. Globe beauty pageant winner Lana Glumakova gave a master class for them, and for several years climbers in Santa Claus costumes congratulated the children on New Year.
Many reacted to the news of the liquidation with regret. Here are just a few comments left on the "KinderVita" Instagram account:
- "Thank you to each of you for these years of support. This is a real sorrow for us."
- "Thank you very much. Especially for the "Children Instead of Flowers" project. Thanks to it, I realized how kind and compassionate people are around. Solving all organizational issues with you was a pleasure. It is very, very regrettable that circumstances are turning out this way. Trust in you is very high."
- "My indignation knows no bounds!! What injustice!! How can one forbid people from doing such a good deed?! How much joy, how much hope was in the eyes of the children when representatives of "KinderVita" arrived at the oncology center with yellow bags."
- "How much good you have done!!! How many children and parents are grateful to you! It's hard to believe... It's impossible to believe."
