Lukashenka, who is eternally dissatisfied with Belarusians, praised the North Korean people

Alexander Lukashenka, who constantly complains about Belarusians, finally found the best option in the DPRK. 

“I can tell you, as a person who has already seen everything in this world, – your country has a great future with this hardworking, disciplined people,” he said.

In North Korea, he also saw something that no one else in the world sees. 

“I saw – you can do everything. And you do it like no one else in the world. This is not a tribute to our negotiations. This genuinely stems from my observations,” he assured.

Alexander Lukashenka said that, despite geographical remoteness, the Belarusian and Korean peoples are brought closer by common interests — patriotism and respect for history. According to him, friendly ties, which originated back in the times of the Soviet Union, were never interrupted.

He announced "a fundamentally new stage" in relations.

“Today, as a result of comprehensive progressive development, we are moving to a fundamentally new stage. With great delay, but nevertheless we are moving,” said Alexander Lukashenka.

“Our economies are complementary, we need each other. And in this direction, let's draw conclusions from the past, from our mistakes. And let's do everything to make relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Belarus exemplary,” he added.

He explained that in modern realities, when the "powerful of this world" ignore international law, independent countries need to interact more closely to protect their sovereignty.

Alexander Lukashenka stated that the development of relations with the DPRK would proceed without regard for the opinion of other countries.

“Like you, I am a supporter of us developing our relations without looking back at other countries, which, of course, will not be thrilled by our relations. Because they are competitors. Our economies are complementary, we need each other. We will draw conclusions from the past and do everything to make relations between the DPRK and Belarus exemplary,” he said.

Kim Jong Un added that both countries strive for the construction of a multipolar world and have similar views on the international order.

“I think this serves as a prerequisite for the possibility of further expansion and development of bilateral relations in accordance with the mutual interests of the two countries,” he said.

He expressed "full support" for Minsk's actions and spoke out against sanctions on Belarus.

“We oppose the unlawful pressure on Belarus from the West and express support and understanding for the measures of the Belarusian leadership aimed at socio-political stability,” Kim Jong Un stated.

Kim Jong Un also noted Belarus's successes in defending its sovereign rights and developing its economy.
