During a conversation with journalists in the Oval Office, the US president shared details about his phone conversation today with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the fact of which was earlier reported by Putin's aide Yury Ushakov.
According to Trump, the conversation was "very good." He expressed confidence that the resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war would come "relatively soon." He also said that he offered the Russian leader a "brief ceasefire."
"I offered a brief ceasefire, and I think he can do it," he stated.
In addition, Putin reportedly offered Trump help in the war with Iran during the phone conversation, specifically regarding enriched uranium.
"He would like to help. I said: before you help me, I want you to finish your war. He told me he would like to join in the enrichment [of uranium]. He can help us get it," the American president added.
