According to Ushakov, during this conversation, Putin stated his readiness to declare a truce 'for the Victory Day period'.
Trump supported this initiative.
Putin also complained to the US President about Ukraine's 'terrorist attacks' and assured him of Russia's complete superiority on the front.
'Vladimir Putin described the current situation on the line of contact, where our troops maintain a strategic initiative, pressing the enemy's positions. Our president once again confirmed that the goals of the SMO will be achieved in any case,' Ushakov reported.
Putin also condemned the recent assassination attempt on Trump and declared the 'unacceptability of political violence'.
Trump, in turn, allegedly told Putin that a deal to resolve the conflict in Ukraine was already close.
