President of Uzbekistan will not attend parade in Moscow

Shavkat Mirziyoyev will not come to Moscow for the parade, which will take place on May 9 in honor of the 81st anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, Gazeta.uz reports, citing a government source.

«President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will not take part in the May 9 celebration in Moscow, a government source confirmed to Gazeta. — In the list of foreign leaders invited to the celebration published by the Kremlin, the presidents of Central Asian countries are not indicated,» the report says.

The Kremlin announced that during the Victory Day celebration on May 9 in Moscow, Alexander Lukashenka, who has already flown to Moscow, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico (who clarified that he would not attend the parade), President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Supreme Head of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim, presidents of unrecognized Abkhazia Badra Gunba and South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, as well as a delegation from the Republika Srpska of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which included President Siniša Karan, Speaker of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić, and leader of the "Alliance of Independent Social Democrats" party Milorad Dodik, would be present.
