A 1960s-style cafe is planned to open near the Mound of Glory in summer. This was told to journalists today by Aliaksei Kushnarenka, chairman of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, writes BelTA.
Last year, a large-scale reconstruction was completed at the memorial complex, and a garden was laid out on Lukashenka's instructions. And this year, with the support of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, the exhibition of military equipment was supplemented with eight new units. Also, the reconstruction of the cafe here is being completed, which they decided to stylize after the 1960s. It was during that time that the memorial was built.
"The name will be "Lia Kurhana" (Near the Mound). An atmosphere of the 1960s will be created there, with period cuisine and appropriate interior. Even the waiters will wear stylized uniforms," said Aliaksei Kushnarenka, emphasizing that this is also a tribute to everyone who built the memorial and considered it their duty to bring a handful of earth here.
