28-year-old aviator sentenced to 13 years in penal colony: "treason against the state" for correspondence with former classmates from the AFU

Svyatoslav Padvashetski was sentenced by the Minsk City Court to 13 years of imprisonment in a reinforced regime penal colony, writes "Viasna".
He was found guilty under Part 1 of Art. 328 (illegal drug trafficking) and Part 1 of Art. 356 of the Criminal Code (treason against the state). In addition to imprisonment, the court imposed a fine of 500 basic units (22,500 rubles).
The process was held in closed session. Therefore, there are no details of the charges or evidence on which the court based its verdict in open access: for Part 1 of Art. 328 — two years of imprisonment, for Part 1 of Art. 356 — 12 years of imprisonment. Svyatoslav is currently in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Minsk.
Svyatoslav was born on September 15, 1998, graduated from a flight school in Ukraine, after which he returned to Belarus and underwent an internship at Belavia. His father was also a pilot.
He continued to maintain contact with former classmates. Some of them joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine after the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. It was correspondence with these people that could have been the reason for the persecution. Shortly before his arrest, the man sent an acquaintance a photograph of the airplane he was interning on, with a message that he would be flying it. After that, he was detained on June 10, 2025.
