They were supposed to start tonight, but after Nasha Niva's publication raising questions and concerns about the company that will process the passports of voting participants, it was decided to postpone the process briefly to ensure the safety of the procedure.
The elections will begin on May 11 at 10:00 PM Minsk time.
Pavel Liber commented at an emergency meeting on the main claims against the company that will process the passports of voting participants.
“Company status: Sumsub is not a niche player, but a global leader, confirmed for two consecutive years by the authoritative agency Gartner. Among the service's 4000 clients are giants such as Vodafone, Duolingo, and TransferGo.
Data security: The company holds the highest security standard certificates and operates according to European GDPR requirements. All data is stored on servers in Germany. Sumsub also collaborates with Interpol on research and training matters.
Leak incidents: The company had two data leak incidents, which it self-reported and intentionally published. The first case only concerned partner support services and did not affect biometrics or passports. The second was caused by an error of the partner themselves, who exposed an access key in a public space, which is not a flaw in the Sumsub system.
Owners' origin: The company's founders were born in Russia and hold Israeli passports. They have not lived in Russia for more than 7 years and, after the start of the full-scale war, completely abandoned the use of Russian and Belarusian software.”
The start of the elections was postponed by 22 hours to complete a technical run with commission members and ensure the flawless operation of the system.
