Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued a decree banning the export of enriched uranium from the country. This was reported by Reuters, citing high-ranking sources in the Iranian authorities.

This move could significantly complicate negotiations between Iran, the US, and Israel. The fact is that the uranium issue is one of the key points in a possible peace agreement.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump insisted that Iran must export its enriched uranium abroad if it wants to reach an agreement. According to Israeli officials, he even guaranteed Israel that this would be a mandatory condition for any deal with Tehran.
However, Iran now takes the opposite stance and effectively rejects this possibility, cementing it at the level of a state decision.
According to the International Atomic Energy Agency, in June 2025, Iran possessed 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60%. Tehran has for many years rejected accusations of seeking to create nuclear weapons and claims that the uranium is needed only for medical purposes and a research reactor.
