A new tunnel discovered on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. 38 migrants emerged from it
On the night of May 25, Lithuanian border guards in the Šalčininkai district detained 38 illegal migrants. The foreigners — 36 men and 2 women — tried to enter Lithuania from the territory of Belarus through an underground tunnel.

Border patrols, dog handlers with dogs, a helicopter crew, and drones participated in the nighttime detention operation in the forested area.

The detainees identified themselves as citizens of Afghanistan (23 people had passports) and Iran (two people without documents).
Lithuanian law enforcement officials determined that the foreigners were not in danger and decided to return them to Belarus.
This is already the third such incident recently. The Lithuanian side emphasizes that such tunnels are dug "not without the knowledge of Belarusian officials".
