The US and Iran have agreed to cease attacks on each other, a senior US official told Axios.
The parties plan to meet tomorrow in Doha to resolve the dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to one of the publication's sources, both sides will "for now" cease hostilities, and "vessels will be able to pass freely" through the strait as technical negotiations are set to continue.
As Axios writes, the new escalation of hostilities was caused by different interpretations of a memorandum of understanding that was supposed to end the war, especially its provisions regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
