Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will be in Minsk on an official visit on July 8-9. During the visit, he will hold talks with Alexander Lukashenka.
Reportedly, the main topic of the meeting will be the development of bilateral cooperation and the expansion of interaction between Belarus and Uzbekistan in various fields.
The parties plan to focus on the development of industrial cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.
Following the talks, about 20 documents are expected to be signed, the main one being the Declaration on the Establishment of a Strategic Partnership between Belarus and Uzbekistan.
On the eve of the visit, the third Interregional Forum will also be held in Minsk with the participation of representatives of regions and business circles of both countries.
On July 7, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchyn met with Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev. The parties discussed industrial cooperation, cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, and other areas of interaction.
According to the Belarusian side, trade turnover between the two countries could reach $1 billion by 2026, and $2 billion by 2030. In turn, the representative of Uzbekistan stated the country's readiness to send workers to work in Belarusian agriculture.
