Minsk resident sentenced on criminal charges for doubting the existence of Hitler's «Plan Ost» in Threads
Aleh Kaspiarovich once studied at a Suvorov military school, lived in France, and had his own business.
Aleh Kaspiarovich is 56 years old. In his youth, he managed to study in several Minsk schools, as well as in Poti, Georgia. From 1985 to 1987, he was a cadet at the Minsk Suvorov Military School, after which he served in Azerbaijan until 1990.
In Belarus, Aleh was an entrepreneur for a long time. In the 2000s, he managed a private enterprise specializing in various printing services. Later, he lived and worked in France.
According to Kaspiarovich's LinkedIn profiles, he lived in Minsk at least since 2021. He worked in internet marketing for the companies «ElandBelImport» and «Motovelograd».
As BelTA claims, last spring Aleh left comments in Threads under publications about World War II, where he questioned the existence of Hitler's «Plan Ost» as a stage of genocide. He, according to BelTA, wrote that he could not find the original document online, and therefore considered it a fabrication by the Soviet party.
Soon after, the man was detained by GUBOPiK officers. During interrogation, he noted that he knew about the cruelty of the Nazis from relatives but considered it a reaction to the partisan movement, and called his historical knowledge superficial. Kaspiarovich was held in a pre-trial detention center until the trial.
Aleh's case was heard in the Minsk City Court. He was charged under Part 1 of Art. 130‑2 of the Criminal Code of Belarus — «denial of the genocide of the Belarusian people».
The man was sentenced to home confinement («home chemistry»).
