Durov: "Hey, check what's going on?"

Telegram's short address stopped working worldwide after the operator of Montenegro's .me domain zone assigned it a serverHold status. According to Whois service data, the t.me domain was excluded from the DNS system on July 13.
As a result, links to channels, posts, and profiles stopped opening in browsers and do not redirect users to the app.
Meanwhile, within Telegram itself, t.me links continue to work. The messenger began automatically replacing them with telegram.me when copied. The reasons for the restrictions are unknown. The administrator of Montenegro's national domain zone is the country's government, and registration services are performed by the Domain.me registry.
The situation came as a surprise to Telegram founder Pavel Durov.
He publicly addressed the Domain.me registrar on X: "Hey, @domainME, t.me links stopped working. Check what's going on?", writes Moscow Times.
