Train derailed in Poland after colliding with a truck — dozens injured
In the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland, a passenger train collided with a concrete mixer truck at a railway crossing, after which it derailed. The intercity train of the Intercity company, traveling from Lublin to Szczecin, was involved in the accident, writes Onet.pl.

After colliding with the truck, the train, consisting of a locomotive and six carriages, derailed.
At the time of the accident, there were about 120 passengers on the train. According to preliminary information, at least 20 people were injured. Four of the injured were in serious condition. It later became known that as a result of the accident, one of the seriously injured passengers, who was traveling in the first carriage behind the locomotive, died.
It is known that the train driver and the truck driver sustained serious injuries.
The investigation preliminarily established that the concrete mixer truck crashed into the train, which was moving at that moment. The railway crossing does not have barriers but is equipped with light and sound signaling. It is still being determined why the driver did not stop before the crossing. According to the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure of Poland, the driver stated that he might have been blinded by the sun.
A passenger on the train said that before the accident, she felt very strong braking and a sharp swaying of the carriage. According to her, passengers quickly realized that the train might derail. Rescuers and medics arrived at the scene within minutes. The actions of the emergency services were well coordinated, and there was no panic among the people.
