Belarusian woman believed missing in Nepal is alive. She's in a detention center in Taiwan
"She is not in Nepal — she is detained in Taiwan, in a women's detention center in Taichung," her mother reported on social media.
Yesterday, information emerged that 24-year-old Belarusian citizen Iryna Badzilouskaya (Iryna Badzilouskaya) went missing after a catastrophic flood in the Bhote Koshi River area in Nepal. Her name appeared in the official lists of missing tourists, published by the Department of Tourism of Nepal.
However, the girl's mother refutes this information on social media.
"Iryna Badzilouskaya is alive. She is not in Nepal — she is detained in Taiwan, in a women's detention center in Taichung. The Consulate of Belarus has officially confirmed this. She urgently needs independent legal assistance. If anyone can help with a lawyer or knows Russian-speaking lawyers in Taiwan — please respond," the woman wrote on social media.
How the Belarusian woman's data ended up in the Nepalese lists is not yet known to relatives. In the column indicating the names of tourist agencies whose services the missing persons used, there is a mark PHQ CID DEPT. This means that Iryna was included in the list based on a statement from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nepal Police, notes "Onliner".
