26-year-old Mexican boxer Arturo Torres died less than a week after a fight against his compatriot Gilberto Garcia, in which he suffered a knockout loss in the seventh round. The fight took place on September 19, announced the press service of the Supreme Boxing promotional company.

Immediately after the fight, Torres was taken to the hospital. He was diagnosed with a blood clot in his brain, after which the athlete underwent surgery and was placed in an induced coma.
Despite medical assistance, the boxer died on September 25 from injuries sustained during the fight.
Torres debuted in the professional ring in November 2018. During his career, he had 22 fights: he achieved 15 victories, suffered six defeats, and one fight ended in a draw.
