“My parents have a lot of problems,” — said the athlete in an interview with the Polish publication Sport.pl.
According to her, she hasn't seen her parents since 2021. “Only video calls remain sometimes. But it happened that for several months in a row, it wasn't even possible to see them that way, because various people came to her parents, and it would be dangerous for them,” — admitted Krystina Tsimanouskaya.
She also explained why she cannot see her relatives: “The situation is this: my father is under house arrest. And my mother is with him.” The athlete did not specify the reasons.
Tsimanouskaya believes that athletes, and in particular tennis player Aryna Sabalenka, “should try to do something for political prisoners.” She herself would like to help the political prisoner and athlete Hanna Shpak, sentenced in February 2025 to three and a half years in the Hayun case.
“But what can I do? Write on Instagram that she is unjustly imprisoned? I won't achieve anything with that,” — added the runner.
