Putin's Envoy Headed to the US for Talks with Trump Representatives

The visit was agreed upon with Putin.

On Wednesday, Kremlin leader's envoy Kirill Dmitriev headed to the US for a meeting with representatives of the Trump administration — Steve Whitkoff, Jared Kushner, and other officials, Reuters reported.

Dmitriev's visit to the US, agreed upon with Putin, will take place in New York during the UN General Assembly session and will be a continuation of Putin's meeting with US representatives, which took place in the Kremlin earlier this month.

One of the agency's sources reported that the purpose of the visit is to support dialogue between Russia and the US and "continue peacekeeping efforts".

The publication's source added that economic cooperation between Russia and the US, as well as energy issues and a peaceful settlement of the situation in Ukraine, will be on the agenda of Dmitriev's talks in New York.
