In winter, the body asks to fall asleep: we are more melancholic due to lack of sun and more often reach for sweets, thinking that in this way we will add energy to ourselves. But with fast carbohydrates, the effect is short-lived.
Therefore, Alesia Knyazhevich advises paying attention to the following products (they really support the mood, thanks to the content of vitamin D, magnesium and omega-3, as well as serotonin).
- Chocolate - increases the level of serotonin and antioxidants.
- Nuts. Rich in omega-3, which supports the brain and stable mood.
- Leafy greens. Contains folates - natural forms of vitamin B9 (folic acid), which have a positive effect on the nervous system.
- Fatty fish (salmon, herring, mackerel) - a natural source of vitamin D and omega-3. They also help the nervous system calm down.
- Bananas - a source of magnesium, vitamin B6 and serotonin, which is called the hormone of happiness.
- Oatmeal - slow carbohydrates that provide stable blood sugar and, accordingly, a more even mood.
- Legumes - this is a lot of tryptophan, magnesium and protein. They help maintain energy at one level and strengthen mental stability.
